Cupcake on the wall

The kitchen was looking like it lacked a little something so I decided to paint a picture to brighten it up. This was my first acrylic; I had always used oils before. I reused an old canvas that had a forgotten landscape I fiddled with unsuccessfully. The acrylic went right over it. I decided to make the background green, going from light to dark from left to right. This follows the light source in my kitchen.

I didn't take any pictures in between, primarily because my hands were covered in paint and I didn't want to spend the next few days peeling acrylic off my camera. The color scheme I chose is complementary - but not matchy with the kitchen. One of these days I'll take a picture of it hanging on the wall...

*Update - cupcake on the wall - and yes, we painted the kitchen ourselves! It's salmon and a sky blue.
